I read a very interesting article earlier this month on TheHill.com (a source everyone should read daily in my opinion), concerning a "read-the-bill" measure put forth by 6 House Democrats. The measure, technically a rule of the U.S. House, would mandate a 72-hour grace period between the finalized version of proposed legislation, and an actual floor vote. According to the article, similar rules have existed in several congresses in the last few decades. However, including countless times in the current congress, the rule has been waived because of loopholes. Even Republicans in the past have waived this much needed transparency rule...shame on them. I applaud these 6 democrats, and urge everyone to tell their representatives that they support this rule and should read this article.
HOUSE DEMS HAVE OFTEN WAIVED READ-THE-BILL TRANSPARENCY RULE
