New Polls Dim for Democrats

Some new polls released by Rasmussen on www.rasmussenreports.com show bleek figures for Democrats in Washington. The latest polls on health care reform reveal that only 38% of Americans now favor health care reform, while 56% oppose it. This is a new low.

The Rasmussen Presidential Tracking Poll also indicates that President Obama's approval rating is dismal. Having only been in office for almost 10 months, the new President is showing only a 46% total approval rating (only 26% strongly approve), and a 54% total disapproval rating (46% strongly disapprove). These new numbers could change as the Senate starts debate on healthcare reform and the President begins to tackle new policy issues such as Afghanistan and Climate Change.

Congressional Democrats seem to be sharing the sour moods of Americans in their poll numbers as well. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is polling only 33% favorable and 57% unfavorable, while Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is polling a meager 25% favorable and 47% unfavorable.
