SOTUS

So....there really is just way too much to say about the State of the Union Address. I would have to say , it was definitely one of the worst speeches I've seen President Obama give in a really long time. Also, one of the most awkward. I thought he gave a good speech at West Point a few months ago....so I dunno what happened here. There were policies I agreed with, and some I didn't. There were some he confused me on, and some where I think he really just doesn't understand. Some where I don't think he was telling the whole truth, and some he really just should not have said at all. This is one of those moments that was both awkward, and should not have been addressed like this.

Jon Stewart Wins This Round

This made me laugh.

Stop, Rewind That

Has anyone else notice the massive E-Break that Congress pulled in the last week or so on healthcare reform? I'm pretty sure that about a month ago, just before Christmas, the Democrats in the Senate were urging all of us that Healthcare "HAD TO BE FINISHED AND PUSHED THROUGH RIGHT AWAY!" Hell, even Freshman Franken basically told Senator Lieberman to shutup on the floor of the United States Senate and when questioned about his unprecedented move, he claimed that it was because Majority Leader Reid urged everyone to work quickly on healthcare. Now the Democrats are sitting back saying, "wait a minute....let's slow down and scale back a bit shall we?"

Too Dumb to Thrive: Part 1

So....this really made me first. Despite all the things wrong with this article, one question the first popped into my head was, "Where is the $60 to $80 that I'm supposed to be finding in my paycheck?"

Anyway! Read this article, then watch Part 1 and Part 2 of Glenn Beck's show from 1/26/2010

Pence Avoids Senate

Today Rep. Mike Pence announced that he won't be attempting a run against Senator Bayh this November. Instead, Pence reaffirmed that he will be running for re-election to the House. I think this move is both positive and strategic. I have posted my thoughts about Mike Pence and his possible Presidential bids before, and I'm glad he is deciding to run for re-election. As Chairman of the House GOP Conference, he plays and will play a significant role in this year's elections. He will have great influence if the GOP reclaims the House. This would also help his overall "resume" and name recognition. However, if he were elected to the Senate (not saying he wouldn't be defeated in the race), then he would be starting from scratch in the Senate.

Rep. Pen won't run again Sen. Bayh

Henry Cabot Lodge

The last Republican to occupy the Senate seat currently sought after by Martha Coakley (D) and Scott Brown (R) was Henry Cabot Lodge. Lodge last served in office until 1953 when he was succeeded by John F. Kennedy. The seat has been ruled by Democrats for over 55 years.

Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr.

At Least the White House Has an Idea

Democrats shouldn't be angry over the White House ideas to reduce the deficit. They should embrace them! They do realize that we're voting in November right?

Scott Brown

Today, history could be made. A seat that has been held by a staunch liberal democrat for almost half-a-century, in the most liberal state in the union, could possibly belong to a Republican. If you are a Massachusetts voter, than I urge you to exercise your freedom and civic duty and vote in the Special Senate election today!

The revolution began last spring, the evidence was displayed in November in Virgina and New Jersey, and now the victory lap for 2010 will officially begin in MA come tomorrow!
