Today Rep. Mike Pence announced that he won't be attempting a run against Senator Bayh this November. Instead, Pence reaffirmed that he will be running for re-election to the House. I think this move is both positive and strategic. I have posted my thoughts about Mike Pence and his possible Presidential bids before, and I'm glad he is deciding to run for re-election. As Chairman of the House GOP Conference, he plays and will play a significant role in this year's elections. He will have great influence if the GOP reclaims the House. This would also help his overall "resume" and name recognition. However, if he were elected to the Senate (not saying he wouldn't be defeated in the race), then he would be starting from scratch in the Senate.
Rep. Pen won't run again Sen. Bayh
